It’s an unfortunate fact of the human condition that we need to know self defense techniques. Whether you’re a soldier, a police officer, an orderly in a psychiatric ward or a normal person walking the streets, there will always be threats to your personal safety. People are subjected to aggression every day, and sadly, few know how to deal with it.

Have you ever been in a situation where you were humiliated, or even worse, injured because someone else was bigger, better, stronger and faster than you? Did you think, “If only I knew how to fight back?” At least did you wish you knew how to get away from the conflict? Many people have.

Unfortunately, most people think they aren’t in good enough shape to learn how to defend themselves. Or maybe they think they don’t have the time to learn. Perhaps it’s a matter of money. Maybe they think that all they need is a gun or some pepper spray. All of these are products of wrong thinking.

Very few people enter a dojo as an athlete. The training is actually what makes them an athlete. Time? How much time do you think you would lose being held up, submitting police reports and hopefully spending time in court sending the thugs to jail? An even worse scenario is time lost being laid up in a hospital or being unable to work from the trauma of having been victimized? How much time do you think you would lose with your loved ones in the case of death? For that matter, how much money do you think you would lose in these events?

Guns and pepper spray are viable options except for two things. They can be taken away from you, and even worse, can be used against you. Being armed does have its disadvantages.

What if you could find a self defense course that doesn’t require you to spend a lot of time and money to learn in the bigger picture? How much would that be worth to you?

If I asked you who your best friend is, many of you would point to your spouse or partner. Close friends share a strong emotional bond, enjoy spending time with each other and often have a lot in common. However, there are important elements of a romantic relationship that set it apart from a just-friends relationship–passion, sensuality, and physical attraction.

Unfortunately, in many long-term relationships, passion wanes as the years pass and the couple begins behaving more like close friends than romantic partners.

Sexual desire fluctuates throughout the life of a relationship

Every individual is different, which means that every couple is different. Take this one step further and it’s clear that every couple has different levels of sexual desire. Despite the urge to compare ourselves to others as we search for the ideal “times per week,” the fact is there is no magic number because a couple’s sexuality is intensely personal and completely unique to the couple.

You’re in very good company if the quantity and quality of sex fluctuates in your marriage or relationship. Many couples report steady declines as the years march on, others experience periods of little physical intimacy intermixed with sporadic increases in sex. Couples have different sexual rhythms.

Despite these natural fluctuations, there are mindsets that can creep into your relationship and negatively impact your attempts to keep passion alive. Be aware of them and you put yourself on the road toward a more fulfilling sex life with your partner.

The four mindsets that can destroy passion:

1. You believe that sex is separate from other parts of your relationship.

A relationship truism couples often forget: How you treat your partner outside the bedroom affects what happens inside the bedroom. If your partner perceives you as indifferent or judgmental, it shouldn’t be a surprise when you hear “I’m really not in the mood tonight.”

The seeds of passion are set outside the bedroom–nurture the emotional connection of your relationship and you’ll nurture passion.

2. You’re waiting for spontaneous sex to occur.

Please ignore the Hollywood movies that show couples knocking over every pot and pan in the kitchen (even pot and pans filled with ready-to-eat gourmet food) as they’re overcome with desire and cannot wait to get to the bedroom to have sex. Spontaneous sexual combustion might have occurred when you and your partner were first dating, but for couples who survive past the two-year mark, life’s spontaneous happenings are more likely to involve heartburn and indigestion than sex.

You need to plan for romantic moments, thereby creating them. Even if, over breakfast, you can’t imagine yourself being in the mood later in the evening, if you set aside a time and create a romantic space, you might later surprise yourself when you become aroused.

Don’t be passive about passion–successful couples work on creating passion.

3. You believe sex is mainly physical.

Sex is psychological, emotional and physical. For many, the road to great sex starts in their mind. You’ve probably heard the adage: “The most powerful sex organ is between the ears.” Your imagination and fantasy life can be a great aphrodisiac. For this to occur, you and your partner need to openly communicate about your sexual desires and interests.

Feedback and discussions about what works and doesn’t work in the bedroom will pave the way to a more fulfilling sex life.

4. You still believe in “the quickie.”

Nothing kills passion like a hurried atmosphere. You’re not a teenager any longer, translated: Your body and libido have slowed down a bit since raging sex hormones were the new kids on the block. Do you warm up before exercising? Do you let your car idle before heading off to work in the morning? You and your partner may have different warm-up times before feeling ready for sex–respect these differences and take it slow.

Give passion the time it deserves.

While you might not be able to recapture the sexual glory days of a new relationship, you (and your partner) can take the steps necessary to resuscitate romance and keep passion alive. Awareness of the above four mindsets is an important first step in reversing the toll the years often take on passionate relationships.

Although not news, Erin Andrews has a stalker. Not your average stalker because this one is serious enough to try to videotape her and succeed in doing so. His name is Jacob Lorinsky as identified by the FBI and british police yesterday. According to authories, he had been following her around for days upon days looking for the perfect opportunity. He even had more detailed and disturbing photos of her naked than the one that went viral.

Check out the edited video and photos here.

Jacob Lorinsky is a registered sex offender and has had 2 restraining orders put on him over the last 5 years. After seeing Erin Andrews espn photos, he planned and calculated for a year before making his move according to the detectives who questioned him. He is now looking at life in prison along with a $10 million dollar lawsuit if found guilty. He is 32 years old.

Apparently, he had drilled several holes in her hotel room and set up cameras there from different angles. He had covered his tracks well but a lone camera in the hallway managed to get a shot of his face and from there, the detectives were able to trace it back to him. He shortly put up one of the many videos he took online on youtube where it was quickly removed.

It was too late however, the video went absolutely viral over the course of 2 hours. It is unfortunate we live in a time when women can’t even have their privacy respected. It went even more viral when Bill O’Reilley said something about it on his show.

Click here for her full video and photos recovered by the police.

It’s kinda scary, the thought of a home invasion, but you can protect yourself with some basic home self defense. Did you know that According to a United States Department of Justice report 38% of assaults & 60% of rapes occur during home invasion? The same report also states that 1 of every 5 homes will experience a break-in or home invasion at some point in time. This gives you a 20% chance of being a victim of a home crime.

So, what can you do? There are many ways to protect yourself from people entering your home. Using common sense and some basic home self defense techniques will give you a much better chance of being skipped over by that potential rapist or possible home assault.

One of the best ways to prevent a home invasion or break-in is to make your home always look occupied. In most cases people don’t want others to be home when they attempt a break in and the presence of anyone can be a great deterrent. Keeping curtains open and lights on indoors is a great first step to making the home look occupied. Keeping a car in the driveway also gives the impression that there is someone home.

Another great form of home self defense is to secure the outside of your home. When I say secure, I don’t mean locks and cameras. One of the simplest things you can do is cut back bushes, overgrowth and trees from around your home. Don’t leave places for assailants to hide and wait for you to arrive home. This also prevents them from spending time hidden around your home. You also should lock any ladders that you have setting around your home to a fixed object using a quality padlock and chain. This will prevent possible assailants from using the ladder to gain access to unsecured upper windows, porches or even the roof. Installing some motion activated security lights around all outdoor doors in your home or even all around your home will do a lot to increase your home self defense and security.

I personally like to keep a super size pepper spray in my home at all times. Keeping one or two of these large self defense sprays around the home will provide safe and effective protection in the event of a home invasion. There are sprays available as large as 1 Pound that will give you the ability to ward off a handful of attackers and give you a chance to flee. If possible a mist type spray with a pistol grip would serve you best to defend against multiple attackers in an indoor situation. The mist type spray will hang in the air for a long period of time placing a wall of pepper spray between you and your attackers.

Using some basic home self defense will give you the edge if a criminal is looking at your home as a target. Keeping alert and paying attention to your surroundings is always your best bet to preventing crime especially around your own home. The steps you take to achieve security may be the deciding factor to your future.

Most women always go the extra mile to over protect and over clean themselves using various commercial products. This however has more of an adverse affect rather than a positive affect.

Advertisements make it seem like all women are in need of various soaps and pads and perfumes and sprays for their private areas. It’s easy to think you need to start using them based on the number of advertisements you see on tv or in magazines for feminine hygiene products; but the female body comes equipped with it’s own natural protection- and you may not need as many feminine hygiene products as you’ve been led to believe. We actually end up harming the body’s self-protecting processes when we use some of these products that are supposed to help feminine hygiene.

The skin over our bodies are what protect us from the harmful things in the world we live in! We need to take care of our skin by keeping it clean and washing away as many germs as possible, but we can over do the washing and cause more harm than good by washing away the natural oils in our skin- the very ingredient that helps protect us. The only area of the body that should require more than a gentle cleansing on a regular basis are the bottoms of our feet- because we really make our feet work hard day after day! We can assist our skin in protecting us by slathering on a sunscreen when spending time outdoors, and wearing appropriate clothing for the weather conditions when outdoors.

A woman’s body has needs that are unique to females. The body, however, is quite well equipped to handle those needs. The female’s private area helps protect her from germs with natural oils that clean out infections. Women need only keep the outer skin of their private area clean to help the body perform it’s natural functioning.

Some women choose to use pantiliners or other pads to absorb the body’s natural moisture. Other than times when spotting may occur from your monthly cycle, you should really avoid these pads as they are actually eliminating the body’s natural defenses against infections. Also, when you use the pads or pantiliners excessively, the body may think something is wrong and respond by increasing the amount of discharge.

The female private area is sensitive and using sprays with deodorant or perfumes can cause more problems than it’s worth- and it doesn’t remove the body’s natural odor anyway. If you find that your natural odor has changed; see your doctor as it may be an indication of infection.

For women who have problems or complications that are out of the ordinary, such as extra sensitive skin, or burning sensations they should visit the doctor for advice before they use any commercially available products. All the products advertised on television or in magazines are not meant for each and every woman. Yes many of the products are useful, but not for everyone, on the other hand many of the products also go the extra mile to eliminate your bodies personal defense.

When in your cycle be sure to dress lightly, and drink a lot of water, this helps the body take over the hygiene process and eliminates any odor.
